Textile Innovation | Chesterfield, UK

Composites Evolution, located in Chesterfield, UK, will highlight its prepreg series and introduce its new thermoplastic tape manufacturing capabilities at the 2021 Advanced Engineering Exhibition to be held in Birmingham, UK from November 3rd to 4th.

Flexible prepreg developers, manufacturers and suppliers can provide shorter delivery times and lower minimum order quantities, and provide in-depth technical support when customers need them.

What will be displayed on the N90 booth at the exhibition will be:

-The battery box for high-performance luxury electric vehicles is made of Evopreg PFC bio-based flame-retardant prepreg.

-The rear wing of the Ginetta G56 GTA GT4 race car uses Evopreg ampliTex natural fiber prepreg.

-Parts manufactured by the company's newly launched Evopreg PA thermoplastic tape series.

Composites Evolution has a range of professional prepregs suitable for various applications, including:

-Evopreg EPC epoxy component prepreg is a series of pre-impregnated fabrics, suitable for molding into high-performance, lightweight structural parts.

-Evopreg EPT epoxy mold prepreg, designed to help composite mold manufacturers improve the flexibility and efficiency of their mold manufacturing process.

-Evopreg PFC flame retardant prepreg, a 100% bio-derived phenolic resin substitute, suitable for applications with critical requirements for fire resistance.

-Evopreg ampliTex combines the company's high-performance Evopreg epoxy resin system with Bcomp's ampliTex flax reinforcement material to provide a series of materials that provide superior performance for component applications.

-The new Evopreg PA thermoplastic tape is made of polyamide 6 (PA6) polymer and unidirectional carbon fiber. It is suitable for automatic tape laying, winding and compression molding into high-performance, lightweight parts.

As part of the Composites Engineering Forum, Marketing Director Dr. Ben Hargreaves will also deliver a speech entitled "Sustainable Composite Materials for High-Performance Automotive Applications" on November 4. The presentation will focus on how flax epoxy resin prepregs can provide higher sustainability for automotive body applications without compromising performance, and how they can be used to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of composite tools.
